Beyonce grew up in Destiny’s Child, the biggest selling all girl group on the planet. But long before Beyonce ‘borrowed’ from The World of Suzie Wong: The Movie fashion styling to tour the world, there were All American Girl Bands who worked hard without as much recognition and who paved the way.

The Go-Go’s are an all girl band that define the Californian story and lifestyle. Four girls came from four different states across the USA, to Los Angeles to enjoy the surf n sun.

They ended up colliding into one another in the fast-paced LA life and forming a band. The rest is history.

The Go-Go’s are tres amazing. I saw them in concert at The House of Blues on West Hollywood’s infamously fun, Sunset Strip. Enjoy, their music in the form of this clip from The Johnny Carson Show and vintage Suzie Wong movie promotional artwork, today.

American endearing China and China endearing America, is the way of the future and a golden romance of political ties and alliances.  The Kung Fu Kid executive produced by Will Smith starring Will’s son, Jayden Smith and Chinese geat, Jackie Chan is Hollywood’s next big effort to produce and generate a Chinese-friendly film. Securing the music rights of Michael Jackson’s music and incorporating it into the journey of the young hero’s story for this film; will be pivotal to breaking into China.

Michael Jackson - THIS IS IT!

Recently I saw the film, “This is it” which records the final months of Michael Jackson’s life as he prepares for his final world tour. I have heard great reports about the film and so wanted to check it out myself. I watched the film with interest and was amazed at the incredible gift that God had given to MJ to sing, dance and entertain people.

As the media has shown us, Michael Jackson is a peculiar person who has been the subject of much controversy over many years. His relationships, appetites, plastic surgery, philosophies and lifestyle definitely fit into the bizarre category. Yet as I watched MJ dance, sing and prepare for his world tour, the gifting upon his life was so evident that it is also a testimony to the abilities that God had given to him.

I just can’t help but wonder what impact MJ could have had upon the globe if his life was completely surrendered to Christ and his gifting was focused upon proclaiming the gospel? Who knows what the outcome would have been?

Like MJ, each of us have been given unique gifts and abilities to reveal and express the nature and glory of God to this world. We may not have the freakish talents of Michael Jackson but we all have something that sets us apart and positions us to influence others. Don’t despise your uniqueness, if the world can embrace someone like MJ, there’s a place for you to express what God has put inside you.

I was amazed at the power MJ wielded when he was on the stage and behind the scenes. Unfortunately, he was treated like a god and he would basically get anything and everything he wanted. This is the downside of misdirected power. As someone once said, “With great power comes great responsibility.” The bible says, “A mans gift makes room for him.” Your gift brings with it power and influence and with privilege comes great responsibility. Steward the gift you have and don’t use it to take advantage of people but to point people back to God.

Now, some of you already know that I am mosttimes the King of Absolutely Worthless Trivia, and today I came across a piece of trivia that surprised me.

The hot chick walking through the Michael Jackson video is Sheryl Crow, who, at the time, was one of his backup singers. This was always one of my favorite Jackson videos – mainly for the hot chick walking through the video – And now I know why! Because, directly behind my Number 1 & Number 2 favorite Hot Chicks of All Time, Stevie Nicks and Jolene Blalock, respectively, is Ms Crow.

The most crazy MJ story I have ever heard. Get a grip Arnie, shamone!!

By TMZ  3rd November 2009   Finally an explanation as to why Michael Jackson’s 1993 accuser could identify the discoloration on the singer’s genitals … Michael liked to pee for an audience.

TMZ has obtained files from the 1993 Santa Barbara molestation investigation. A deputy from the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department noted the young accuser was able to describe — in explicit detail — the discoloration on Jackson’s genital area … the result of Vitiligo, a skin discoloration disorder.

TMZ’s Harvey Levin spent 3 hours last Sunday with Dr. Arnold Klein, Jackson’s best friend and doctor for decades. Dr. Klein insists Jackson did not molest the boy, and says the reason he could describe Jackson’s genitals is because Jackson liked to pee in front of other people. Dr. Klein said Jackson thought it was funny.

Klein says there were numerous times when Jackson would pee in the doctor’s home – in a cup!!! — around groups of people, including children.

Klein says Jackson would also pee in front of other people in his office.

Dr. Klein says the 1993 accuser saw Jackson peeing and that’s why he could identify the genital markings.

Epic

Halloween was epic. The subway trip alone was epic–ingenuously, the MTA decided Hallowee night was a GREAT time to do some construction work and cut service. Yes, an epic subway trip.

My costume was an epic mess–nobody could guess that I was Shirley Temple. I blame it on my failure to create the necessary curls. Oh, well. Maybe next year.

The parade was epic. Zombies danced Thriller and ghost heads waved into the crowd’s faces. And it rained. It rained on our parade–but it didn’t really matter. It was fun, and that’s what’s important.

And the crowds were epic. So many different mutants, cross-dressers, animals, Michael Jacksons, princesses, and Jesuses converged into the streets of The Village that life was overflowing. Sometimes drunken life. Funny drunken life. I have never seen so many happy drunks in my life.
